I’ve talked a little bit about my goal to clear out the clutter in my home. A huge part of that will be to rid myself of all the paper and figure out a system for managing it. Do you ever feel like the paper in your home multiplies? It drives me crazy! On top of all the catalogs, newspapers, etc. that make their way into my house, I also have a lot of things that I love like photos and other collectibles. This year, I want to scan my photos and some other stuff and make some books. I participated in Semester at Sea during the Fall of 1998. I managed to put my photos in albums but I have a box of stuff that I was going to put in a scrapbook.
A few years ago I made a photo book about my Grandfather using Blurb. He was an Oklahoma State Senator many years ago and had saved a lot of memorabilia from that time. It was so much fun to go through all of the newspaper clippings and photos to create books for my family. And a book is so much easier to pick up and look at than a box of stuff. My goal is to spend one hour per week scanning. Surely, I can manage that.
