Roadside Find

Design Blogs and even design shows periodically show a piece that someone found on the side of the road and transformed. While walking the dogs this morning I found my first roadside piece. At first I thought it was a sewing cabinet which I’ve been looking for. The top hinges. But instead of it hinging on the sides, the hinges are on the back. There is storage underneath the hinged top and it has these odd drawers. One side has three drawers instead of four. I don’t think the drawers are original to the piece. It’s very odd; I wonder what it’s original purpose was. It’s solid wood and is pretty heavy. It was not fun to load up in the back of my SUV. I think I’ll probably remove the drawers and add doors We’ll see.
